Situation
Summary background of the organization
Bikes for the World strives to put old bikes to good use in other
countries, provide community service opportunities for volunteers,
supply low-income recipients overseas affordable bikes, and generate
employment overseas to repair the bicycles.
Obstacles
The communication challenges faced
Bikes for the World is at a crucial juncture where they need to
expand their reach, and encourage bike owners to donate to them,
rather than other, more familiar donation outlets. Their materials
contained a variety of logos, confusing their audience and making
it difficult to recognize the organization’s brand. The group
lacked key communication materials to spread the word about the
group.
Solution
The steps and solution taken by the CreateAThon team
To increase their reach, branding played a key role to create consistency
and clarify the look, and to reinforce the organization’s
key messages. The CreateAThon team designed a new logo, which will
be used in all future materials. We then designed a poster to post
in multiple locations to get the word out quickly. Finally, we designed
a header for an enewsletter and a flyer using the corporate brand.
